New Faces Emerge Regularly in the Modelling Industry

New faces constantly appear in the modelling industry as new talent emerges. The fashion world evolves each season launching new concepts and ideas regularly. The model scouts are expected to react to their demands seeking new talent to meet the designers vision. It is a fast pace, forever changing industry that in fact, sometimes works in the models favour and other times unfortunately not!

For those who are maybe struggling to secure work as a model will be overjoyed if there is a shift in the way of thinking and their look is now sought after. More opportunities will arise and allow for new talent to show their potential making a name for themselves in a fiercely competitive industry. It is not easy to break into modelling and therefore, the fact that the modelling world regularly accepts new faces is a way for hopefuls to keep ignoring the rejection and fight for their place in the industry. Therefore, it is vital that you do not give up at the first hurdle and keep working towards your goal. An opening may just appear at the right time igniting your career.

However, the downside of this fickle nature is that established models who were once focus of the industry could be forgotten and cast aside without a second thought. It is a frightening possibility that could be a reality for many models. It is a great feeling to be the model of the moment yet it is a fight to stay at the top as new talent challenges existing ideals and grabs attention of the designer and the media. It is well known that top fashion houses pick a muse that represents the brand by posing for advertising campaigns and gracing the catwalk at fashion weeks. Karl Lagerfeld is particularly well known for choosing a model who will become a source of inspiration for a short period of time. Cara Delevingne, Kendall Jenner and most recently Willow Smith have been Chanel’s ambassadors at some time or other. However, if he becomes suddenly uninspired, which is naturally going to happen eventually the muse will be left to find another modelling job.

The way to survive the brutal, harsh industry is to remain relevant and desirable to designers. One contemporary way to guarantee desirability is to develop a strong Instagram following that will benefit brands tremendously. Fashion designers will hire models who benefit the label further and expand their reach considerably. By having a social media platform that has a large following you will attract roles as by announcing the collaboration and posting a photo more people will become aware of the brand and follow them also. It is a modern method that has taken over the modelling world with high profile models posting behind the scene footage, work collaborations, attending glamorous events and socialising with celebrity friends. It is a tool that all models should optimise and take advantage of to stay relevant and avoid an early dismissal from the modelling industry.
