Models who act are everywhere: just look at your TV screens if you don’t believe us! Of course, it’s sometimes difficult to say whether they’re actresses who happen to model, or models who happen to act; but models who act simply prove that it’s important these days to diversify in order to improve your chances of success.

Famous Models Who Act

There are loads of models who act in the public eye. For example, Cara Delevingne recently starred in Paper Towns. There are of course loads of other models who get involved; from cameo roles right through to leading ladies. Of course, some actresses become models after agents have seen how they work the camera. It really depends on the circumstances.

Why Combine Your Talents

Sometimes it can be hard to break into an industry, especially one like modelling where the competition is often fierce. Obviously, not everyone can act. However, if you think that you’ve got a shot with acting, it can actually improve your chances as a model later down the line.

Signing up with an Extras agency might not seem like much, but once you’re getting into the swing of things working long days on set, you’ll actually begin to have a new found appreciation for the work you’ll potentially be doing later as a model. You’ll learn how to take direction, work long hours, and go over the same things again and again until you get it right.

You’ll pick up tips when it comes to professionalism, and you’ll learn how it is to perform for a camera. In many ways, the two professions are very similar!

Of course, if you’re already modelling, joining the ranks of models who act can only raise your profile further! You’ll be breaking new ground in terms of exposure and solidifying your reputation on a larger scale.

Of course, some models don’t act – they sing, dance or do something else entirely. It can be really good to show you’re versatile and multi-talented.
